The 2019 Spring Meeting was held Saturday, May 4, in Eugene, Oregon.
Jeff Nielson of Heather Oak Wood Products made a presentation about kiln sticks, Steve Carroll of Watercare discussed condensate drip legs, and Bruce Shreeve from American Wood Dryers gave a summary of kiln types and their recent construction of kilns at Seneca Sawmill.
Heather Oak Wood Products hosted a delicious BBQ lunch...thanks Jeff!
Following lunch, Mike Texley of Seneca Sawmill led us on a tour of their new kilns and boiler room. Seneca has made many innovative changes to the standard kiln design to improve performance, monitoring, and control, and their housekeeping is remarkable. Thanks, Mike, for a peek into a new high standard for lumber drying.
